Features & Functionality

  • Add live category filters with custom taxonomies: You can filter posts by category, add standard fields and taxonomies to post metadata for easy management.

  • Add locations with a new or existing custom post type: Choose between the built-in locations, which are already available in your WordPress dashboard, or an existing custom post type if you have previously imported location data.

  • Use location data from existing KML, XML, or JSON on the local or a remote server: Use location data

  • from existing KML, XML, or JSON on the local or a remote server: The plugin is able to read KML, XML, and JSON formatted with specific attributes. If you choose this option your location data won’t be visible in the backend of WordPress so there's no need for alarm!

  • Map existing address and coordinate meta fields: If you already have your locations loaded into WordPress as a custom post type and have the location address information entered, then mapping those fields in GPO's settings page will allow this plugin to read it.

  • Add country select drop-down field: Google’s Geocoding API needs to know which region you are looking for so that it can properly geolocate your request. If there is more than one country in which the company operates, then a drop-down of regions should be available, and selecting this will bias their search results accordingly!

  • Implement custom map styling from Snazzy Maps or other sources: Specify a path to an external JavaScript file with custom styling or create your own style array and apply it directly through the map's settings.

  • Use custom category marker images: You can use different images for your location categories so that they're more memorable and distinct. When the setting is enabled, an additional field will be added to Location Categories in order to upload them from within WordPress through their media library!

  • Use custom origin marker image: You can easily highlight the user’s input location with a custom marker image uploaded.

  • Inline directions from origin to destination: Show your customers how to get from their current location to one of yours without leaving the website.

  • Display the locator in a modal window: The store locator has been displayed in a modal window for added attention.

  • Pagination: Searching for a restaurant can be quite overwhelming, so if you need help sorting through the results then break down your location into multiple pages.

  • Feature specific locations in results: When adding or updating a location, make sure that you enable the "Featured Location" meta field. This will ensure your featured spot is at top of search results no matter how far away from home!

  • Override location list and info window markup with custom Handlebars templates: You can customize the output of your location information by uploading custom info windows and templates.

  • Add a maximum distance select drop-down field: Narrow down your search results by enabling the maximum distance setting.

  • Add a field to search locations by name: If you need to find a location quickly, use our new search tool that lets users input their desired destination's name instead of just an address or zip code.

  • Select miles or kilometers as the unit of length: The default unit of measure for the plugin can be set to either miles or kilometers.

  • Choose between the four map types: There are four map types to choose from road map, satellite, hybrid, and terrain.

  • Only display locations in the locations list that are visible on the map: You should be able to filter the location list by markers that are visible on your map.
